Description

TAPMissoula is looking for a qualified intern to assist with our marketing and advertising objectives.

TAPMissoula is a Missoula-owned small business and social network startup, launched in June of 2020. TAP is part of the company JSJ International, Inc, founded in 2011 and run by two Missoula-born natives. TAPMissoula is our newest product, a positive resource, and a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our intention is to build and strengthen the Missoula community through positive connection and engagement on a social network and marketplace platform dedicated to Missoulians.

 

We allow members to virtually connect, so when it’s safe, they can meet in person to sell, trade, pay forward, exchange, and gift their items and talents. We also have a section dedicated to Missoula-owned nonprofits and businesses, where they can connect with a broader Missoula regional audience, or parties interested in Missoula but living in a different geographical location.

 

TAPMissoula does things a little differently from some other social media platforms. We do not sell user information, and ad/posts by businesses and nonprofits are from Missoula or Montana-based entities. TAPMissoula also encourages productive, positive, and constructive engagement. Toxic, intolerant, and hate speech is NOT tolerated.

 

The intern we seek should be okay with remote work and training and have an interest and general knowledge in marketing and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of email campaigns, online promotions, digital ads, etc.

  • Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials

  • Assist in outbound advertising opportunities in the Missoula region

  • Forum engager and admin/manager

  • Provide support to social media efforts

  • Monitor social media for trending topics to utilize on social media channels

  • Marketing strategy and feedback

  • Content creation in long and short-form format

  • Customer response and management

  • May be asked to help manage print advertising campaigns

  • The above responsibilities are broad examples and are fluid depending on the needs of each week

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an avenue in marketing or business

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of social media

  • Driven and hard-working

  • Ability to take direction and multi-task

  • Ability to work remotely and prioritize deadlines

  • Self-starter

  • Friendly and personable

  • Must be available at the start or end of each week for a strategy/company meeting

  • Knowledge of Word

  • Must sign a Nondisclosure Agreement

  • Must sign up for a membership to apply. (It's free)

  • Must have access to the Internet, computer, and phone

  • Training opportunity to gain experience working with software and CMS management as a webmaster assistant

  • Flexible schedule for students

  • Between 5 to 10 hours per week

  • 2-month trial period

  • 6-month internship with the opportunity to extend
